Features

Nothing is more disconcerting than learning a client encountered medical or logistical mishaps while traveling on vacation or business, or had to cancel a trip due to an emergency. You want to make certain that you offer your clients the opportunity to make dealing with these situations easier.

By offering Sabre Travel Protection, you are giving your clients the opportunity to have greater peace of mind. Your clients know they are covered immediately. It enables you to easily meet your clients’ needs for convenient, worry-free travel. And you can print the coverage information right on your customers’ itinerary and invoice. Plus, easily track your commissions earned from insurance companies with the interface record sent to your back-office system.

Sabre Travel Protection works through a variety of insurance vendors, including our U.S. preferred partner, CSA Travel Protection. Together we offer travel agents and their customers one of the most comprehensive and flexible travel protection in the marketplace with the following:

For Agents

  • Receive commission protection — if customer cancels, your commission is covered
  • Earn up to 35% as a certified agent and 10% as a referral agent
  • Save time — a Passenger Name Record (PNR) is automatically created in the Sabre system and integrated with your back-office functions

For customers

  • Provides travel protection — trip cancellations, delays, baggage loss, medical emergencies, air flight accidents, rental car damages or financial defaults
  • Reimburses for trip interruptions up to 150% of cost
  • Refunds the premium cost if trip cancelled for any reason
  • Offers no-risk trial period — full refund of premium within 10 days of purchase
  • Gives 24-hour emergency customer service

ACCESS

There are several ways to access Travel Protection in the Sabre system:

  • MySabre™ agent booking portal — integrated into the booking portal at https://my.sabre.com
  • Graphical insurance —for non MySabre users you can access travelprotection.sabre.com. Clicking on this link will launch the Sabre Travel Network graphical insurance booking utility.
  • Automated insurance script — each insurance vendor provides an automated script that works in conjunction with our Sabre scribe feature to make selling insurance simple and trouble-free. After installing the vendor’s insurance script, you can access the Sabre Travel Protection feature through an easy-to-use drop down menu.
  • Insurance booking mask — If your agency is not using our Sabre Scribe feature, you can access a convenient insurance booking mask via the Sabre system. Access the booking mask with one simple entry, then complete a short series of screens to finalize the insurance policy. Information is gathered from your Passenger Name Record (PNR) and displayed for you on the appropriate screen.
